Cappadocia is a year-round destination, depending on what you're looking for. May, June, September, and October are high season, but contrary to what many people think, it doesn't close down in winter. The seasons are clearly defined and the landscape transforms throughout the year. Balloon flights operate all year round.
Cappadocia is located in Central Anatolia, in the heart of Turkey, far from the coast. The fastest way in is to fly into Kayseri (ASR) or Nevşehir (NAV) airport from major cities like Istanbul, Izmir or Antalya. There are also direct flights to Kayseri from European countries like Germany, France and Austria.
It depends on what you'd like to see. For the hot air balloon flight and the most famous sites, 2 nights is the minimum. For hiking and more cultural activities like a cooking class or Turkish bath, 4 full days is a good number.
Definitely, this is one of the few places in the world where you can spend the night in a cave with all the comforts of modern life. Just keep in mind that caves tend to have less ventilation and sometimes lower ceilings, so they may not be the best fit if you're claustrophobic.
